With concern for the safety and health of the Oxford and Lafayette County community, as well as our runners, the Double Decker Spring Run, as well as the Double Decker Arts Festival, will not occur on August 15, as previously rescheduled and announced. In what would have been the 25th anniversary of our race and festival, organizers have made the difficult decision to celebrate in 2021.
This conclusion was made after careful deliberation, discussion and taking input from healthcare professionals, emergency management and city leadership with regards to the spread of COVID-19 and ways to safely conduct the festival within the CDC guidelines.
The Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone for their patience as we have considered and contemplated all of the matters necessary in making this very difficult decision. The 25th anniversary of the Double Decker Spring Run will resume in Spring 2021, and our committed runners who have registered for the 2020 event can take comfort in knowing their registration funds will be transferred to the 2021 event and their registration is confirmed for next year’s race.
While we would love to be able to give everyone a full refund, the truth is that we have already incurred many costs associated with the event. If you must have a refund, please email us your request.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you all in advance for your understanding.
Sincerely,
